This non-profit organization is working to build an ecosystem that will lead to the resolution of food-centric social issues around the world. Through its activities in education, community, and innovation, FFI aims to build a sustainable and prosperous world by improving knowledge and awareness of the agriculture and food industries, nurturing world-class innovators, and discovering and accelerating innovations that will bring about social change.
Tokyo Food Institute
As part of efforts to create new value in food, the Institute is building a food ecosystem that fosters co-creation among various players both in Japan and overseas by supporting new and developing businesses and human resources that will shape the future of food. The Institute actively promotes activities to realize a sustainable society and enrich people’s lives.
Gastronomy Open Ecosystem
GOe is a project of the Basque Culinary Center – the innovative university and graduate school of gastronomy in San Sebastian, Spain. Created to respond to the challenges facing gastronomy and the future of food, this project is undertaken in collaboration with other regions of the world. Serving as an international hub for scientific research and innovation in gastronomy, the GOe framework supports corporate research, new business development, strategy planning, start-up launches, and more.

Gastronomy Innovation Campus Tokyo
Operated by Tokyo Tatemono, this is a global base for the Basque Culinary Center– one of the world’s leading academies in gastronomy science, and its Gastronomy Open Ecosystem project. In addition to offering a variety of educational programs that explore food from every imaginable angle, GIC Tokyo will create innovations that will contribute to solving food-related social issues, and provide training of the next generation of specialists.

Tokyo Food Lab
Operated by Tokyo Tatemono and aimed at updating global “food” and solving social issues, the Lab is a place for proof-of-concept experiments and social implementation. It is also home to “PLANTORY tokyo” – a plant factory and research facility at the global cutting edge, and “U” – an innovative community hub, where people can share and experience food-related know-how knowledge. “U” can also serve as a place for research and development.
Kitchen Studio SUIBA
Operated by Tokyo Tatemono, this food-focused “innovation studio” aims to inject excitement and revitalize the area through its activities. Aimed at those working to create the future of food, SUIBA is equipped with a general-purpose kitchen space that can also be used as a test kitchen, test marketing venue, and a place to evaluate PoC (Proof of Concept) and other social implementation activities. Also its highly visible main street-facing location make it a desirable event space.
